This is useful and can be a good solution. I prefer creating a separate campaign for advertising the content network, however. A separate campaign allows for greater organization and analysis. This choice is a personal preference, however, and you should use the option that feels most comfortable.
In the end, you should be skeptical about the content targeting, and the quality of traffic will not be the same as pure search engine traffic. If you really want the extra traffic, then be sure to make a separate offer for your campaign content site, keeping your bids as low as possible.
