One of the best ways to master affiliate marketing is to take a curriculum. You can do as I did, read forums, read Google's Adsense pages and even play around a bit by yourself. I'm not recommending against any of that. The best way to learn something is to jump in and forge ahead. I find you'll get the hang of a lot more from your mistakes than you will from just copying someone else's programs. Unfortunately, most people don't have the perseverance, or bank accounts, to do that. Odds are, unless you are extremely intuitive, or extremely hard headed, you won't succeed.

Where this type of instruction pays off is when you once and for all reach decision to take a method. I'm starting to see some colleges offering these types of courses, but I fear they are much like my college education, filled with theory. My marketing classes consisted of 1. Do a market survey 2. Identify a need 3. advertise the solution for the need 4. Make a lot of money. Yes, those are the basic steps to selling a service but hardly enough facts to do something profitably. I found most of my education was to arm me for a field so I would know the concepts. The real learning would take place on the job as a big corporation moved me through their training.

That kind of instruction isn't going to help a lot when you are trying to do your own organization.

I decided the best design would be to get the knack of from a mentor. I already knew that you need to choose a product, find keywords with limited competition and advertise those keywords but how to actually do that? You can fumble around testing but how do you know when to quit? How can you minimize the learning curve? For that I needed to have someone show me.

I've bought various e-books and even a couple of nicely done video training preparations but they were either still too enigmatic or concentrated on a distinct niche with very specific circumstances. Even if I could clone the teacher's success, which I usually couldn't, I still couldn't make money regularly. For that I needed to watch someone start from scratch without pre-determining what they were going to market before the plan of study began. If I could just sit back and follow and take notes, I would appreciate the system and replicate it at will.
