Internet network marketing has been overly complicated by the gurus. It has lead to people putting themselves into a lot of debt by buying course after course and product after product...with nothing to show for it but an emptier bank account.

Either create your own system or tap into an existing good one.
3. Before you do this third step, all your marketing pieces should be in place. What's the use in getting traffic if you don't have a place to send them?
In this step you're going to go after targeted traffic. You've already identified your target audience now you need to know how to reach them online. You can do a search by looking at websites that cater to your target audience...i.e. forums, social networking sites, etc...
Another option is to do some search engine optimization techniques to bring your target market to you via articles, videos, etc...
The last option is to do some paid marketing. This can include doing pay per click, media buys, etc...
With all these steps in place you're driving targeted traffic to your marketing funnel. That's where you'll begin building relationships and making the bulk of your money. If you find that you're not making any money or not generating targeted leads, odds are you've neglected one or more of those steps above.
This is the whole gist of internet network marketing. How well you execute it will determine your success.
