Internet Security Concern for Common Users and Organizations

These days increasing usage of internet, making our lives easier for acquiring information

, sharing information, communication and shopping. Beside every advantage it makes some problem for us too. biggest is security issues for internet users. This issue is not only for individual user, much organizations also suffering with this. We put our personal details and business critical data and information on internet (at some website) with believe that will not be share with anyone or disclose to anyone. Who protect our faith?

This is article is first article of the series about internet security issues. We shall discus about all aspects of security for an individual user and organizations. Volume of data is not matter here main issue is the violation of security. We shall discus about operating systems, browsers, protocols, SSL, internet hacker's web, internet firewalls and internet guards and virus protection software. We have many things to describe.

We shall start from operating system because operating system is the base where we use our browser to interact internet. Most of the individual users are addicted of Microsoft released operating systems I mean rich graphic user interface and classic interactivity. The above two thing Rich graphics and graphic user interface always hide the security issues of Microsoft released operating systems. Win XP have problem with its built-in fire wall.

XP firewall could be disable by user accidently or unintentionally because many users have no idea of fire wall importance.

Built-in firewall and just can monitor incoming traffic only; it cannot able to check the outgoing traffic, which is a big flaw of built-in fire wall of windows XP.

For tracing outgoing data from your XP based PC you have to put any hardware based firewall which can cost you a lot.

On a local network if you have multi operating systems like win95, NT 4.0 or any back word compatibility. Your network can't access your computer after enable your firewall.

The API (application programming interface) use to develop the firewall can also use by attacker to disable it.

Many third party software can disable Microsoft firewall with uninstall it. For a new or basic user it is very hard to know whether the firewall is working properly or not.

For prevention for the above errors you have to update your service pack and any other updates available from Microsoft but this is only an incoming data monitory
