Interpreting Body Language - What You Should First Know in Your Quest to Understand Body Language

I noticed posts where people`s reactions interpreting body language were overrated

. Well, I want to get focused on one aspect that I consider is one of the most important and that is facial expression.

Probably the safest way to get an idea about all this would be taking classes at an acting school but this means money and time consuming, that is if you actually manage to pass the final tests.

So this is not a method that I propose for interpreting body language. I do not want you to look at this as at mechanically copied gestures taken from some videos from the internet, but as real acting, the professional kind. Not theatrical miming of a gesture that should symbolize a certain feeling, but actually feel that for real. It is true that you cannot start from scratch and it is ok to make an image of yourself, but for interpreting body language you do not actually need to search for videos related to this.

And it is ok to start copying the style of your favorite actor and with whom you also would like to identify yourself. But remember that this is just the beginning and not the purpose in itself. There is not two identical people, so there also isn`t two identical body languages at two different people (not even twins which are similar, but different by personalities, at some point in childhood one takes charge).

You can copy someone, but up to a certain point. The idea is that interpreting body language and understanding what those gestures mean should lead you to express the feeling that is the source for those gestures.

You can try to be with a girl that is mostly like your best friend`s girl, but you will soon noticed that this is not you. It is actually normal to feel attracted to certain parts for some girl`s body language, but that does not mean that girl is good for you. This is one of the most important things in interpreting body language. This is what I mean when I say it is ok for you to copy someone, but only up to a certain point.
