Several researches are being conducted to identify the actual cause for this disease. Current treatment process is solely based on the symptoms. It can be said as symptoms are treated rather the actual disease. On its treatment front antibiotic is advised. However, using antibiotic for long may result into to many undesirable circumstances. This may include nausea, fever and upset stomach. Prolong use of antibiotic weakens the immune system and increases the chance of catching other diseases.

Hence natural mode of treatment is more recommended. As herbal medicines hardly have any side effects it is considered as safest drug. Changing food habit can also help to control the uneasiness. But, remember that home remedies of changing food habit can only control the interstitial cystitis but cannot uproot it. Hence, proper treatment is advisable.
