Introduction About The Classification Of Ball Mill

The ball mill is one of the most widely used super fineness grinding equipments in the industry

. There are many types such as tube ball mill, cement ball mill, super fineness and energy-saving ball mill, overflow ball mill, chinaware ball mill, and grid ball mill. Ball mill is mainly used to grind materials in mineral, cement, refractory, chemical industry, etc. Ball Mill has dry and wet ways.

Working principle of the Ball Mill

The ball mill is composed of horizontal cylinder, hollow shaft and grinding head. The long cylinder which was made of steel was equipped with grinding system. The grinding system usually is steel ball. It will be placed into the cylinder according to different diameter and certain percentage. The grinding system also can be steel bars. Material goes into the cylinder through the feeding inlet. The shell rotates which generates eccentricity, this force brings ball to a certain height and then balls drop down by gravity, the impact is the grinding force to the materials.

Classification of the Ball Mill

(1) According to the length and diameter of the cylinder, the ball mill machine can be classified as the following types: (a)Short ball mill; (b)Middle length ball mill;(c) Long ball mill.

(2) According to whether it can be successive operated, the ball mill machine is divided into continuous grinding machine and intermittent grinding machine.

(3) According to its transmission way, it is sorted as centre drive grinding machine and Edge transmission grinding machine.

(4) According to its discharging way, it can be divided as the end discharge type ball mill and the Middle discharging type ball mill.

(5) According to the shape of the grinding medium, it is classified as the ball mill, the rod mill, and the gravel mill.

(6) According to its operating processes, the classification is as below: Dry grinding machine and Wet grinding machine.
