Iphone 4 Applied Product Development Might Have A Problem
Apple, the international technology giants have just released the latest incarnation
of their highly successful iPhone 4 on the 24th June 2010 and just like other Apple products before that it, the roll out of this latest gadget was greeted with mass hysteria in the streets as people queued up early in the morning outside the many shops that have the new product in stock, just to get their hands on one. However, after just twenty four hours of the product being out it appears as though there could be a major flaw with the applied product development.
Apparently the iPhone has a major problem when users decide to utilise the iPhone in their left hand, the signal strength drops right off the end and people are left speaking to themselves on a rather expensive piece of equipment. This story has been reported on several of the larger news stations around the UK and USA and it does sound rather strange as Apple's applied product development is normally flawless.
The problem occurs because of the new antenna that is utilised on the iPhone 4. The phone features a stainless steel casing which is used as the antenna for the phone to pick up the various frequencies on the different networks and it now appears as though due to a flaw with the applied product development used by the company that there is a problem when the antenna is covered by the users left hand.
Obviously the whole point about having a phone that is mobile is that you can use it anywhere and also in either hand. If Apple has seriously dropped the ball on this, then it could end up costing the company a far amount of money to rectify the situation. However it is not as if they don't have the money to do this. I'm sure even as I write this there are a team of individuals that are working away furiously on improving the original applied product development that the experts within the company had designed and developed.
If there is one thing for sure, Apple will not sit on this problem. They are an extremely advanced and cutting edge company and their response to criticism and problems is normally speedy and decisive. Expect a new iPhone 4 on the market in the near future with modified applied product development ideas to get around the left hand issue. Steve Jobs will not want the iPhones legacy to be tarnished by this small error.
