Is A Stun Gun Device Really Effective?

Let us start by asking ourselves what a stun gun actually is and how it operates

. By definition, a stun gun is a handheld, portable, electrical device which is used as a self-defense weapon. It produces a small electrical current, but is able to form a powerful voltage which can disable an attacker for a short period of time. While the process can be quite painful and the person will feel a lot of muscle spasm, this method of self-defense will not leave any lasting injuries or disabilities. A urban myth says that this device can be lethal if used on somebody with a pacemaker, however, this is not true at all!

But what exactly does a stun gun do? It seems so obvious yet it is hard to understand why a small electrical impulse does so much damage to the human body, right? Well, a stun gun will mess up the electrical pulses that are produced by the brain and transmitted other parts of body, especially the muscles. The electrical shock that a stun gun produces will cause these impulses to override each other which leave the body confused and causes many of its functions to stop for a brief moment. Other side-effects that the stun gun will cause will include loss of orientation, muscle spasms and high levels of pain.

How to Use a Stun Gun?

Stun guns are designed for you to carry them in your pocket and there many different models out there on the market. Most mini-stun guns are small and disguised as regular objects - mobile phones, pens and flashlights. They also have an LED flashlight built-in to them. In order to conserve energy these devices also usually have a built-in rechargeable battery and you get a charging cord as well. This means that you can charge your device before going out and you will never have to worry about wasting money on new batteries! These included batteries are 9 volt ones and this is an industry standard since they can produce the required 3 miliamps which is enough for the voltage to be as much as seven million volts!

If you get into a sticky situation and somebody attacks you, then you will need to react very quickly. It is expected of you to locate your stun gun and pull it out before the attacker gets a chance to reach you. After this you just need to press the devices on their exposed skin and fire it off! It is needed to keep the device pressed to their body for at least 3 to 5 seconds to get the full effect. Do not be afraid of the electrical current as it cannot be transferred back to you if the attacker grabs you.

It is ideal to hold you stun gun right next to you, for example, in your pocket as this will allow you to always have it at the reach of your fingertips. Putting a device inside of your purse or bag is not very smart as people usually can't find the device on time.
