If there's any manufacturers that could challenge Apple iPad's eco-system chain, it is more likely to be Amazon. But of course, it needs e-commerce and e-reading titan develop a android tablet first.

Although Motorola Xoom, HP TouchPad and RIM's PlayBook could be the replacement of iPad2, but they are too expensive and cannot compare to Apple store apps.

So it says, Apple will control at least 80% tablets market in the U.S., and its competitors can only share 10% market after iPad has been sold for 15 millions.

But Amazon is capable for being a dark horse. They should develop a tablet based on Android or Linux and sell them at Amazon.com to make it more like Amazon styleone click buying, member service and recommendation engine.

Why Amazon need to take such a daring action? Needs for competition. A few weeks ago,Apple's CEO Steve Jobs announced that iBooks had been downloaded for more than 100,000,000 times, this is a huge challenge for Amazon's Kindle.

Apple has strict rules for e-book publishers and retailers, and requires to purchase within the apps, this could expel Amazon from e-book market, so Amazon has motivation to make its own android tablet.

Amazon is also able to sell a tablet at cost price or even lower than cost price but fulfilled with content charge. Amazon has its own brand, it has e-book, music, video stream and games and so on, these all make a Amazon android tablet possible.

This is not just an assumption, 24% of interviewee says they would consider to buy a Amazon made android tablet, and only 18% of interviewee would buy a Motorola tablet. 28% of interviewee who considering of purchasing tablets is more likely to buy from some online retailer like Amazon, only 11% would like to buy from network operators.
