Is An Internet Marketing Mentor Worth The Investment?

If you've ever tried to make any money online you may have discovered that it's quite

a bit harder than many of those products you've bought make it out to be. Now it's probably true that people are making money online with a few clicks here and there but the reality is that they've been honing their craft for years and it's only now that they're in a position to make the outrageous claims that they are without completely misleading their customers.

So how do you go about getting a headstart in Internet Marketing these days and actually get good value out of it, well for one you could look at spending money on a mentor. The problem with this type of training however is that it's usually pretty pricey and in many cases it's hard to even know if you're getting your money's worth, so how can you be sure that what you're about to sink your hard earned cash into is going to be worth it?

Well, here are are a few tips for anyone interested in investing in an internet marketing mentor:

1. Do your research. Find out what types of products this person has previously sold, are they in the types of niches that you are interested in creating products yourself or do they focus on an area you don't see yourself working in? Buy some of the products the prospective mentor has released and see what you think of them yourself, if you don't like them then get a refund and test how they handle it.

2. Check out the offer in detail. Don't just jump at the first opportunity to get to buy an internet marketing mentor's program, you need to understand exactly what it is that you are going to receive before you can figure out if it's right for you. Do you get live contact with the mentor, do they deliver their content through ebooks, videos, webinars or a membership site? How often will you receive information from the mentor, does this fit in with how you would like to work with someone.

3. Find testimonials. This can be tricky as testimonials are sometimes hard to believe, especially when they are on a salespage for a product someone is selling, but check if they provide information about the person giving the testimonial, can you follow a link to their website and get in touch with them, what about a photo. Another thing to do is check out places like the Warrior Forum, nobody on there usually holds back on their opinions, so if you want to know what someone really thinks do a search for your prospective internet marketing mentor's name and see what comes up.

4. Send an email. Don't be afraid to try and get in touch with your prospective mentor on a completely unrelated topic, try and get some free advice and see how they handle it. If they don't know you are interested in their program and they come right out and share information with you for nothing then it's likely they will be a good mentor, but it's not a perfect sign.

5. Look into their business partners. Many highly successful internet marketers these days do not do all of this stuff alone, they will commonly build close relationships within the industry so try and find out who the person you want to work with, works with. Check out their credentials too, you know what they say about the company people keep, if they are all stand up people and are well respected in the internet marketing community it's likely you're on to a winner.

6. Check out the price. Don't be fooled into thinking that an internet marketing mentor has to cost the earth, there are some incredible programs that are actually pretty cheap. This is all down to how the content is presented, after all if it's via pre-recorded videos or the like the mentor only has to record it once and people can access it whenever they want. Sometimes a well priced training program is going to be better than a ridiculously overpriced one, regardless of who's delivering it.

So there you have it, a few ways to figure out if an Internet Marketing mentor is worth the investment and how you can review any opportunity put in front of you and determine it's value. Don't be afraid to invest a little money into your education, it'll pay off in the long run and you'll get your money back in spades if you make the right internet marketing mentor choice.
