Is Article Marketing Value For Money
Let's keep this short and to the point
Let's keep this short and to the point. The answer's yes. If you have a web-site to promote, article marketing is one of the best ways to promote it, not just because it produces back-links which raise your profile to the all powerful search engines, but because articles are useful. Don't think of them as an expense. Think of them as an asset.
Well written articles are destined for more than a brief appearance in some lonely article directory where they linger until/if someone decides to use them. Articles can be used in many different ways.
Most web sites have a sign up box where they ask potential customers to join a mailing list, and it is customary to offer some form of inducement. This could be a discount coupon, an informative report, a series of emails or even a short e-book. These products can all be built from articles.
Blog posts aren't quite the same as articles, they tend to be shorter and less formal, but a good mix would be to use an article for one of your blog posts each week. Even if you do have to edit a little, it's less work than writing something new from scratch.
Press Releases are quite different from articles in theory, but it's surprising how often you can modify the headline and then just tweak the text as long as you remember that Press Releases will usually be rejected if they don't contain news. This can often be added in a short paragraph at the start and a line or two at the end, with an article providing most of the body.
Web Sites need content and an article can be the starting point. On your own website you'll want to add some more detail, more links (preferably to your own products) and, of course pictures, but the article can still form the basis of your page, and when it comes to websites, the bigger the better. You can also link from your product pages to article pages where you explain how the product is used and thereby increase your conversion rate.
Articles can also provide content for your regular newsletters. If you ask people to sign up on your mailing list, you can just send them promotional news, coupons etc. but most research shows that customers are more likely to open email they think might contain useful information, so the best newsletters contain interesting articles with promotional articles added on.
You can also use your articles as the basis for Squidoo and Hub pages which also provide back-links to your website. Again you'll want to add more facts, links and pictures, but the article will provide a good basis.
Best of all, articles can be products. A series of articles linked together with added facts, links and pictures can easily be built into an e-book and offered to your customers as well as through something like Clickbank.
Article production is part of the sales process, it should be continuous. It isn't something to be done in isolation, it isn't a one time event and it isn't an expense. Articles are an asset.
