Is Aspartame Bad For You
Does aspartame have a positive effect on your health and well being? What about weight loss and long term longevity? Is aspartame bad for you? I have done some research andI think you are going to be very surprised with the outcome.
Why do people use sweeteners in the first place?
- They want to lose weight
- They want to be healthy
- They are diabetic and want to stabilise blood sugar levels
The list goes on but what if I told that the amino acids in aspartame actually does more harm than good?
Is aspartame bad for you?
Here are the facts.
Aspartame is absorbed by the liver and gets broken down intothree amino acids, two of these amino acids makes up 90% of aspartame. Both of these amino acids occur in normal food sources like milk and tomato juice but when unaccompanied by the other amino acids, they can become neurotoxic. This puts a huge strain on the liver and therefore there is less energy in the liver cells for fat burning and metabolism resulting in fat storing and weight gain.
Why is aspartame bad for you?
Aspartame may affect the pancreas in diabetics because the amino acids in aspartame can release almost as much insulin as glucose can, resulting in diabetics releasing too much insulin which causes severe hypoglycemia (low blood sugar). It has been common knowledge that thetwo amino acids found in aspartame causes marked insulin elevations.
Not only is aspartame bad for you, aspartame can also aggravate diabetes. This is how.
- Marked changes in appetite and weight as reflected by weight gain or severe weight loss.
- Excessive insulin secretion and depletion of insulin reserves.
- Possible alteration of cellular insulin receptor sites resulting in insulin resistance.
- The toxicity of each of the 3 amino acids of aspartame.
- May cause unstable blood sugar levels, which increases the appetite and causes cravings for sweets/sugar.
There are also other sweeteners that may contribute to diabetes and weight gain. The high-fructose corn syrup sweetener commonly found in non-diet soft drinks and baked goods may contribute to the development diabetes, particularly in children. University scientist found that soft drinks containing this sweetener contains high levels of highly reactive compounds known as carbonyls. Carbonyls have been linked to the cellular and tissue damage implicated in triggering diabetes and/or contributing to some of its complications.
Scientists reported that people consume too much high-fructose corn syrup as it is in way too many food and drink products and that there is growing evidence that it is bad for you.
