Is Deal Dash A Hoax?

DealDash is a well-known company in the bid auction sector and the concern frequently comes-up: Is DealDash.com a hoax?

Many people claiming that Deal Dash is indeed a hoax take their opinions to penny auction blogs, online auction Web forums and even the BBB. These people accuse DealDash.com of a variety of offenses, most of them pertaining to the bidding process.

A few DealDash.com users say theyre charged for something they never bought or used. With a more in-depth look at how DealDash.com and other penny auctions work, however, we learn that this isnt true. What often happens is that when they first sign-up,signup, new DealDash participants are given the chance to purchase bids (which are required to participate in live auctions). Some of these participants get through the entire registration process without actually paying any attention to the large and small print, and mistakenly think theyre purchasing a tangible product. Others wrongly believe they are only charged if they bid on something. As far as we can tell, in both cases this is a result of users failing to read the terms and does not mean DealDash is a scam.

Other complaints say that Deal Dash manipulates their auction clocks to hoax bidders. But again, after a closer look we learn this is largely based on misinformed participants. Some of these DealDash.com complaints point to the fact that every time an auction nears its end, DealDash.com automatically added time to the clock. This, critics say, must mean that DealDash is rigging bid auctions and ripping off customers. But really, thats simply how the penny auction is formatted. And anyone that takes the time to understand online auctions knows this.

Another DealDash.com rip-off complaint focuses on customers that dont win bid auctions. These participants claim the bid auction circuit is simply a losing game, and that unless youre one of the winners, youre going to lose a lot of money. Looking into the matter though, we know that Deal Dash offers a buy-it-now style auction. This essentially allows a auction participant the option to buy any item he doesnt win at retail price, and lets him use spent bids towards the purchase price, protecting the bid investment.

Overall, DealDash seems to run a legitimate online auction operation and as far as we can see is not at all a hoax. participants are clearly informed theyre signing up to bid in auctions, that penny auctions cost money to participate, and that they have the opportunity to buy merchandise for retail when they dont win. However, some simply fail to read these terms and falsely accuse Deal Dash of swindling users out of their hard-earned cash.
