Is It Possible To Drop A Stone Before Christmas?

When you first look at the above question and consider whether it's possible to drop 14 pounds in just five weeks

, what would your initial reaction be?

Chances are the thought of losing a stone in little over 30 days would make you think that it is almost impossible.

However, although it's not easy - especially if you don't have a lot of weight to lose - and it will mean that you'll have to make some sacrifices starting now, it really is possible and more than anything just requires for you to plan.

The very first thing that you have to do is look at your diet. Sit down with a pen and paper and write down what you would eat normally for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as any snacks.

Don't hide anything here - if you eat a chocolate biscuit every day, write it down - as the only way you're going to lose a stone before Christmas is if you're honest and truthful with yourself.

Once you have a list of what you currently eat in front of you, it's time to go through it and work out what you need to remove straight away.

Anything that's got a lot of sugar in it needs to be taken out for a few weeks, as well as anything that's particularly fatty, with both of these meaning things like chocolate, crisps, donuts and most other snack foods.

Next, you need to go through the list and work out what you can replace with a healthier alternative.

Things such as takeaway meals are easy to find alternatives for, as the best alternative is more often than not to make it yourself, whether it's a pizza or a burger.

Finally, you need to look at every snack that you eat and replace it with a piece of fruit or some prepared vegetables, such as an apple, banana or sliced cucumber.

Now that you've worked out your diet, it's time to look at your exercising.

If you already head to gyms and workout regularly, then your best option is simply enhance how much you do, which could mean you go from going to gyms three times a week to five times.

If you don't already workout, however and you can't sign up to a gym for whatever reason, you need to look at how you can incorporate exercise into your currently daily routine.

For most, the best way is to simply walk more, something that can be done at almost any point throughout the day, whether it's walking to and from work or going on a 30 minute walk around the local town when you're on your lunch break at work.

Losing a stone in the weeks before Christmas isn't easy and it might not even be possible if you don't actually need to lose it. If you're carrying a few too many pounds, however, losing a stone for Christmas can be a reality and you simply have to plan and have the motivation to succeed.
