Is It Possible To Get Fit And Healthy Without A Gym Membership?
One of the questions that are very often asked in relation to health and fitness
is whether attending a gym is an absolute necessity for working out and losing weight or is there a possibility of being able to do it without attending, for instance, a gym in Birmingham.
For some people, the only answer is to attend a gym.
They pay their membership fee, attending three or four times a week for an hour or two each session and love the fact that everything they need for exercising and maintaining their level of fitness is all in one place, from the actual pieces of exercise equipment right through to the swimming pools and showers.
There are plenty of other people who have attended a gym once or twice but feel that they can work out just as effectively without it.
They invest in various pieces of exercise equipment that they can use at home, such as dumbbells and a chin up bar, they get up early before work and go for a 60 minute run and they motivate themselves by simply keeping in their mind that they'll either be at the weight they want to be at soon or they'll continue to maintain their high level of fitness, both without a gym membership.
The problem for some is that this thought alone isn't one that keeps them motivated - everyone can have good intentions of working out and being able to meet their ideal weight and fitness levels, but not everyone can motivate themselves to reach their goals.
And it's here where a gym membership really proves to be the best option.
As you are likely to be paying several hundreds of pounds for your membership over the course of the year, it's a natural reaction to want to get the most for your money, else you'll just in effect be wasting your money and you may as well have thrown it down the drain.
With the membership card in your wallet or the gym's key ring on your keys, you're constantly reminded that you have a membership and that the reason you signed up was so that you'd attend regularly to lose weight and get fit and healthy, something that you're unlikely to do as an individual due to a lack of motivation.
At the end of the day, the question of whether you can get fit and healthy without a gym membership of any kind is one that can be answered only by you.
There are gyms located all around in the country and at least a handful in every major town or city that you can choose from and use if you need to, but if you're motivated enough to be able to exercise without one, there isn't any reason why you shouldn't be able to maintain a certain level of fitness without one.
Of course, attending a gym in Birmingham, for example, does give that added motivation and reason for working out, but the answer really does depend on your own personal circumstances, attitude and motivation.
