Is It True There Are No Juvenile Delinquents But Rather Delinquent Fathers and Is There a Remedy

?

Over these past fourteen years I have been involved with families where there are painful divisions and where one hears of children crying night after night.

Many years ago I saw that there were no 'juvenile delinquents' but rather as a western society we were producing delinquent fathers.

How many problems arise simply because men will not be men and take their role as responsible husbands and fathers and in that order?

I have just been re-reading that poignant and probing scene in the Gospels where Jesus Christ is on the Cross. He is there shedding His blood to wash away our sin and sacrificing His life as our Passover Lamb, but there is another picture given to us which is so telling and relevant.

From the Cross, Jesus sees His mother, Mary, and the youngest of the twelve disciples. John. He is thinking about His mother. Jesus was always thinking about others and nowhere is this more revealed than when He is on the Cross.

He speaks to His beloved mother and points to John and speaks of John as her son. He then turns to speak to John and explains how Mary is to become his mother. You will find this in John Chapter 19 in the New Testament part of our Bible, which is the Word of God.

It has been assumed that dear Mary's husband, Joseph, is no longer alive.

Jesus Christ was concerned about his mother being cared for at this critical hour within His own life. His physical life is almost over and His concern for others never falters.

This is family care and concern and compassion at the deepest and most sacrificial level. There are times when, for our family, we have to sacrifice and make sacrifices and kill selfishness and self-centredness.

Family relationships and family affections are much more important than we sometimes realise.

We hear of separated parents having to buy expensive presents for their children at Christmas, and I have often wondered why?

Is it not more important that the father and mother love each other than spend money on what is secondary?

I know that the church is divided and people who say they are Christian stay apart for all kinds of various reasons and many of them having nothing to do with biblical principles and biblical teaching.

Sin has ravished our communities and our societies and our families but God has a remedy and that remedy can be found in Jesus Christ and His healing reconciling power, but that can be the last place where people turn in their time of real need.

Is it not at the Cross that we discover something of the mind of Christ which Paul deals with in his simple yet profound letter to the Philippians?

In the Church of Jesus Christ our unity is based on real vital faith, and being baptised in water and baptised in the Holy Spirit and being clothed with Christ.

Somehow the Church of Jesus Christ has to transfer these principles to hurting families and weeping children if we are going to save and rescue society, and is that not what Almighty God is calling us to do?

Godly fathers are so greatly needed.
