Is Multi Level Marketing Dead
You have heard of them all. Multi Level Marketing programs selling everything from paper goods to phone service. You have heard all the hype and seen all the flashy pictures of MLM guru's driving fancy cars and living in big houses. While you sit and watch the bills pile up and wonder why you spent five hundred dollars to join the program in the first place. You stare out the window and taking in your lack of success and really wonder is MLM truly dead?
The hype
In this day and age people are brow beaten by work and life. We've all been taught to mind our places in the world so that the world doesn't bother us. So when an opportunity comes along to change that were understandably skeptical. We ask ourselves can we really live the life of our dreams or is this just another company looking to move more product at our expense? The truth is that every Multi-Level Marketing company needs to move product, but they can do it just as easily as putting it in a store and leaving it to us the consumer to pay them our money while they sit back and enjoy the profits. No fun there just profits, profits, profits, and no one mocking their product and saying that it's a scam. So why do they do it.
The edge.
If you've ever been in Multi-level marketing you will notice that the thing that they have most is training . This may be in the form of meetings, pod casts or what ever media that they choose to use to get through to you. There may even be CD's that you can play in your car on your way to that job that you pledge to leave in a year. So why all the fuss. Because in MLM you need to believe in yourself, your product, and you need to get rid of the mentality that everyone that you talk to isn't going to laugh in your face . This is what I like to call the MLM edge. Why, because it's simple. Those who believe drive the fancy cars and live in the nice houses, those who don't end up with a house full of product that they are trying desperately to move. Sure they plan to work, but do they really work the plan. Do they go out brimming with excitement over their newest endeavor. Or do they just repeat the script they've been given in a lackluster way and pray that they can sell at least 1 case of that product they have sitting in their basement .
The key is belief and the will to break away from the everyday worker mentality. MLM thrives on the belief of the uncommon man so the best thing that you can do for you MLM business is to not be common. You need to get out, sell and concentrate on success . Reading about the success of others will help you to fine tune your technique and give you the edge you need to succeed.
So Is MLM Dead?
That's the question that we started out with at the beginning of this article. And the short answer is no. Even with the economy as bad as it is MLM is alive and thriving. When you get past all the hype, all the meetings and all the stuff that makes other people cringe MLM is an entity that offers great opportunities to the common man. The truth of the matter is that it's hard to be in business for yourself without sales and if you don't want to sell you might as well pack up your checkbook, set your alarm for 7A.M and get up with the rest of the worker bees.
Business is sales and MLM is no different.
