Is Parental Control software Violating your childs rights?

Many of us have turned to various software solutions to make sure that our child is protected while they are on the Internet

. At times, some of these restricted their access to certain websites and at other times, it may have hidden in the background and recorded everything that they were doing. At some time or another, your child is going to accuse you of violating their rights as an individual with this parental control software. Do they have a leg to stand on?

One of the first things that I would like to say is that as the parent, you have every right to control their Internet usage and what they do in that regard. Nobody would argue this with you, but it is the extent that you are willing to go to that may be brought into question. If you feel that it is necessary to police your children by spying on what they are doing with hidden software, that is your prerogative. If you want to block them from viewing certain websites, that is also well within your rights.

The unfortunate thing is, many parents are not proactive in this regard and they simply allow their children to do whatever they want to do online. Far too many children have fallen victim to various Internet predators and other problems which has affected their lives over the long term. Don't allow your children to fall into the same problems. By keeping track of what your child is doing, you are not violating their rights, you are protecting their safety.
