So your website is up and ready and is ranking on the top at Google. But there are no sales, no online guests, no sign ups or anything. Why? You are in a constant conflict with your SEO teams even when they are doing a spot on job. It's because no matter how top ranked is your website on the internet, without results it's useless. The only question here is why there are no results?

Imagine you are out shopping in the real world. You are looking to get something formal. The moment you step into the mall you see a shop that catches your eye. It's informative, clear, and clean and you are sure to get what you are looking for in there. You step into the shop. It is a total mess. Everything is mixed up. The suits are lying on the floor, the structure is disturbing and finding anything there is almost impossible. What are you going to do? Walk out.

Now take this scenario and run it in your head online. Your website is like a retail store in a mall. If it is not up to the standards, people will bounce back. And what's more, your competition is always next door, on the click of a button.

What you need to do is make your store more user friendly. People should not need a sales person to guide them through it. It should be so easy to use that a ten year old could make a purchase from there (hypothetically).

Since the dcor and ambience don't work online, make your website walk the walk through content. You need page turners of Dan Brown quality. It sounds a bit over the top but it is a fact. Write something interesting and less clichd than a normal sales pitch. Pitch your products through your website by images and designs, not through content. The words are there to captivate the audience and they are much smarter than they seem.

If you are selling a product or service, value added services (VAS) should be your top priority. What happens on the web stays on the web, forever. You do not want to hurt your brand. Make sure the customers are provided with such a treatment that when they make a second purchase, they pay for comfort and peace of mind, not for what you are selling. Once you get that the only way is up.
