. They"re so many products, manuals and software that teach you how to market effectively, however, most of them are crap. Because of the low results online marketers are receiving, it"s leaving a ton of them asking a simple question, Is social media a waste of time?

I can tell you the answer"..NO! There wouldn"t be so many people trying to sell you their ways to market on social sites if there weren"t so many people swearing it works. If it"s not working for you then you must change the way you"re doing it. Learn to make it effective and you will drive ENDLESS free traffic to your site""Period!

I have the magic answer and once you learn this you"ll never have to worry if social media is a waste of time ever again. All of your worries and neurotic web stat checks will vanish forever. Are you ready for the answer?

BE DIFFERENT than everybody else and BE HUMAN! Build relationships with people and be very transparent with who you are. Offer value and send them to a capture page only if what you"re offering can really and truly help someone solve a problem. Regularly share things that have nothing to do with your site or business.

Facebook is call FACEbook and not LOGObook. People want to connect with people and not with businesses. After all, it"s called social media, meaning these are sites people go to interact and talk with each other. The last thing they want is somebody pitching them their business opportunity. That"s bush league and mistakes rookie internet marketers make.

The problem with Facebook and Twitter is that everybody follows hundred to thousands of people, or friends hundreds of people they don"t know and start broadcasting links to offers they want to send traffic to. But because they fail to build relationships first, most of their followers never bother to look at the posts. The worst is when their followers do the same thing turning it into a vicious cycle of a bunch of people screaming in the same vacuum.

The only way to treat social media is as a long-term relationship builder. Nobody wants to be surrounded by people who pump out one self-serving update after another. I promise you that once you build relationships first, more and more people will be interested in what you have to offer.
