Women still have a bad body image. In 1984 Glamour Magazine did its first body-image survey. At that time 75% of women felt they were too fat. In 2010 71% said they felt fat, but only 46% of them were actually overweight. However, the survey found that women under 30 were 22% likelier to be happy with their shape than older women were. Also, just 16% said they'd taken diet pills versus 50% in 1984; and the number of anorexics and bulimics had fallen 24% and 20% respectively. Younger women have a better body image according to this "body of knowledge".

Women who make healthy lifestyle choices can lower their breast cancer risk even with a family history of the disease. In a study published in the journal Breast Cancer Research, researchers analyzed data from 85,644 postmenopausal women ages 50-79. Women were considered to have a family history if their mother or sister developed breast cancer after age 45. By exercising 20 minutes 5 days a week, having fewer than 8 drinks a week and maintaining normal body weight women with and without family histories lowered their risk about 25%. We can't unwrite family history, but we can "reright" lifestyle.

When it comes to lifestyle, women are happier when men help with the housework that's according to a University of Western Ontario study. A study by the University of Illinois/Chicago found that men who help with domestic chores tend to have more sex. Those studies validate the concept of "chore-play" that women are more likely to want to have sex when their partner helps around the house. In fact, brain scans done by researchers in the Netherlands showed that the key to female arousal is lack of anxiety and deep relaxation. Unfortunately, it seems that men often contribute to the "lax" in relaxation.

Unfortunately, the best lifestyle for women is in Iceland. That's according to the World Economic Forum, which ranks countries by the equality between men and women in salary, education, political representation and life expectancy. Filling out the top 3 in 2010 were Norway and Finland. At the bottom of the ranking were Pakistan, Chad and Yemen. The United States was #19. Considering this was the first year in the 5 years of the Global Gender Gap Report that the U.S. was in the top 20, American women should always open doors for themselves and keep them open.
