Is Time your enemy or your ally?

Is Time your enemy or your ally?

Is Time your enemy or your ally?

Many people, it seems, make time their enemy rather than their ally.

They rush around, feel in an almost constant state of worry or anxiety and oftencomplain that they "don't have enough time".

But isn't time the one thing we all have in common?

How is it that some people seem to accomplish all they set out to do and more, while others seem to believe there's never enough time for the things that really matter?

One of the secrets to accomplishing more, in less time and with less effort is to practice and master the art of inner calmness.

For the past nine years I've practiced, twice daily, transcendental mediation, which among other things contributes to an increasing sense of inner calmness.

Maybe meditationisn't for you (you'll never know if you haven't tried it) but I do believe that every single one of us can benefit from daily rituals that assist us to experience a quiet mind.

What I've noticed is that sometimes I can feel a little anxious, overwhelmed or stressed about the amount of things I have committed to doing. But once I meditate the very same situation radically changes - I no longer have those feelings and I get into the 'flow'. I accomplish more and enjoy the process.

So the conclusion has to be that time is actually a state of mind.

When you enter 'inner calmness' and your mind quietens down your perception changes. Time becomes your ally because you realise that the way you move through life is equally, if not more, important than what you actually do. You are able to apply your mind without distraction and, consequently, do the right things, right. Worries and anxieties melt away.

In 'A Course in Miracles' it says 'Can you imagine what it means to have no cares, no worries, no anxieties, but merely to be perfectly calm and quiet all the time? Yet that is what time is for; to learn just that and nothing more.
