Is Working From Home An Ideal Solution?

The phrase working from home has been popularised over the last few years as more

and more people look for an alternative to sitting in hours of endless traffic whilst getting to and from work. Its a great argument and it certainly has its merits, but is it really that simple, is working from home really the ideal solution? Ever since MLM burst onto the scene some fifty years ago, and now with the more modern online marketing companies, the lure of getting up on a winters morning and de-icing the car is becoming less and less attractive to us all. We all know people who spend around three hours a day commuting to work, whether that is in the car or on good old public transport makes no difference, you are still adding an extra fifteen hours to you working week, every week. Add that to your working time and you may find that your hourly rate is not much better that the spotty student who recently asked you; would you like fries with that?

So to answer the original question; is working from home an ideal solution, the answer for most is without doubt a resounding Yes. But with every up there is a down and being home based is no different. Being at home takes discipline, lots of discipline. Being able to get up when you want in the morning sounds great, and it is, providing that you actually do the work that you are supposed to do. If you are five minutes late for your job then your boss may overlook it a couple of times but after that comes the warning. Work at home and what happens if you are an hour late every day? Nothing, how marvellous is that. But are you going to make up the time at the end of the day? No way Jose, my friend rang and we are going out for cake. This working from home malarkey just gets better, a sleep in every day and cake with your pals, what more can you want? Well how about some money at the end of the month so you can pay the bills and dress the kids. You see, all the pluses are great, you choose your hours, you choose you income and you choose the time spent with the family. If it was that simple we would all choose; no hours, loads of money and lots of time with the family-providing that you like them of course. Working from home demands discipline, and even more so if it is your own business. You have to treat what you are doing with the respect it deserves. Whether you are an online marketer, an MLM agent or have a business washing dogs in your kitchen sink, it all adds up to the same things: there is no free lunch, you gotta get up and go to work just like a normal job. But on the upside, if you plan your work and work your plan then the dreams of riches are there to be had, and one day you will be able to have as many sleep ins and as much cake as you like. So if you are thinking about quitting your nine till five on the hope of having an easy life then perhaps you should have a good talk to yourself first. Because what you may find is that you do more hours working for you than you would for someone else. Its either that or starve, because one thing is for sure, you cant have your cake and eat it.
