. However, if not done correctly, you could be missing out on more potential team members and customers in your business.
The first thing you have to understand is that a prospect does not want to hear hype when you are giving a presentation. They want to hear hope in your words. This is the mistake that many distributors make. They feel they have to beef up their company, products and business opportunity in order to "sell" the prospect on them. People do not want to be sold on anything. They want to feel as though they have found an answer to their problem or have a desire of theirs fulfilled. Add some hope in your network marketing recruiting and you will find that you are signing up a great deal more members.
Involve the prospect in your conversations. Ask them questions about themselves such as why they are looking for a network marketing business or what they do now and if they like it. Also, every couple of minutes during your presentation ask them if what you are saying makes sense or do they like what they hear so far. Keeping your prospect engaged in the conversation will keep them interested in what you are saying.
Build a relationship with your prospect. Keep the conversation about them and not about your business. Be yourself and not a typical salesperson who only wants to dig deep in their pockets. Listen to what they tell you and elaborate on it. You can show them how your business can help them achieve their goals, desires and financial problems, but do not paint the picture that it is the only way to do this. Being genuine and honest in your network marketing recruiting will help to build a relationship with your prospect.
Tackling your own mind obstacles in recruiting is also essential. A lack of focus, confidence and self esteem can really get in the way of recruiting. Other obstacles would be not having a big enough why, not being able to step out of your comfort zone or not being motivated enough to recruit. Procrastination will hurt your recruiting efforts. Action is what overcomes all obstacles, including fear. Start now, stay consistent in your recruiting and before you know it, it will become easier down the road and feel like a natural part of doing business.
Network marketing recruiting is the only way you are going to build a strong business. You can go ahead and place the ads, send out the prospecting emails and write the articles, but if you are not willing to make the call and give the presentation, your business will flourish. Learning how to do it correctly will only enhance your skills and make you a more professional recruiter.
Understanding that it is about listening to your prospects and learning what they are looking for will go a long way rather than spilling out the presentation like a robot hoping they will sign on with you at the end. This is not relationship building and your prospects will see right through you. Be yourself, be genuine and be that person that will help them achieve their goals. That is effective network marketing recruiting.
