Is it a good idea to travel with strange people you might find online or bump into randomly? We often end up thinking, Is finding a stranger as travel buddy Creepy or Adventurous?

I have come across a lot of people through social networking sites as well as in person who absolutely detested the idea of traveling with strange unknown people in today's world. One person to be precise said 'What a horrific idea, it's scary!'

To the Cynic, every idea is blasphemy to start with. To an explorer - every new idea is another adventure. If you are able to decide which category you fall in, it would be easier to answer this question.

Yes, it's a little uncanny idea at first. Travel with strangers. 100 thoughts immediately rush to mind - Psycho, stalker, serial killer, unfriendly, irritating, stranger, unknown... and what not. To be honest, it's definitely not a non risk zone. Chances are it can get ugly, but encounter with anybody in life has a chance to become dreadful. You just need to be prepared. ALWAYS.

Just like how you take your time making friends by getting to know the person, same way it can work for travel buddies.

Of course one needs to do the background check, make calls, Google etc.

At other times, it can turn out to be something like when you start a random conversation in a coffee house with a complete stranger and hit it off!

Traveling with and meeting new people can be immense amount of fun. You just need to be prepared and vigilant.
