Is the 2012 Prophecy just Hollywood Hype?

I am a huge fan of movies with visual effects that are larger than life.

So when the movie 2012 burst onto our cinema screens late last year I was lucky enough to view this visual masterpiece within the confines of a brand new cinema.Needless to say,I was blown away.

Personally,I thought that the movie outshone anything James Cameron had to offer as well as anything involving prettyboy vampires and werewolves.

But what struck me most about the movie 2012 was how real everything looked as the world literally fell to pieces.Some of the sequences had me mesemerised.Believe me,I have seen everything and nothing compares to the sight of a small bi-plane trying to navigate its way through a metropolis that is dropping faster than a drunk.

Yet as I watched this small aircraft avoid all sorts of potentialobstacles I was also able to notice the computer generated people in the backgroundas theearth fell awayunderneath them.After watching this sequence again and again on dvd I began to imagine what it would be like ifthe 2012 Prophecyactually happened.

Could you picture yourself trapped in this living Hell?

Can you imagine what it would sound like if your surroundings just dropped out from under your feet?eg.:the screams of terror emanating from everyone around you before their lives came to an end?Maybe the ear-piercing roar of destruction on acontinent-ending level?

Would you even have time to react?

What about your loved ones?Would there be time to say goodbye?

Just imagine the sheer helplessness of being caught in such a disastrous situation.

But such a thing occurring is justhearsay cooked up by an ancient civilisation isn't it?

After all,the2012 Prophecy was simply a guideline used to help create a script.Nothing more,nothing less,right?

Yet there are world-renowned scientists whom believe that something BIGis going to happen near Christmas time in the year 2102.As of writing this article,there are approximately 904 days remaining until the End of the World is supposed to occur.

So say that the unthinkable happened and our planet ate us up and spat us out like some environment-destroying hoodlums.

Could this cataclysm be survived by the avergae Joe?If so how would one go about not only weathering the storm(pardon the pun),but actually prospering as well in a world which has all but tossed humanity aside?

Hopefully,we will never have to find out as the 2012 Prophecyis nothing more thanjusta means of allowing Hollywood to make uspart with our hard earned dollars(over 700 million roughly if you were interested).

But what if it isn't?

What do we do then?
