Is the HTC Wildfire Froyo 2.2 update a Myth?

Is the HTC Wildfire Froyo 2.2 update a Myth?

Mobile / cell phones are becoming more and more important in todays society. They will soon replace laptops and pc's for the majority of everyday tasks. In fact, after experiencing android phones you will wonder how you ever survived without them. Your whole world can be accessed via these amazingly smart bite sized pieces of technology.

Android phones are fast overtaking Apple iPhones in sales and popularity. HTC has managed to rise to become market leader and has won mobile / cell phone of the year. HTC also has a very neat entry level smartphone in its family; Desire's little brother Wildfire. HTC Wildfire is a very worthy android contender, and is indeed spreading like Wildfire, tipped to be the best seller this Christmas.

Weighing in at only 4.16 ounces (118 grams) with battery and with a screen size of 3.2" this little phone packs a lot of punch. Although the specifications of this phone are lower than HTC Legend and Desire, the overall experience is still breathtaking. There is one area that needs addressing though; HTC Wildfire is currently equipped with the platform 2.1 Eclair and is anticipated to be in line for the Froyo 2.2 update. Without this update HTC Wildfire is crippled in the sense that the 384 MB phone storage can be used up in a nano second leaving you with only one choice; to uninstall apps you may wish to keep. Froyo 2.2 would help to solve this issue as this update allows for app to sd. What is the point of being able to add a 32 GB memory card to the phone if you have nothing to put there other than music and photos? Also Froyo 2.2 would allow for wifi tethering and flash 10.1 plus faster internet speed and a host of other attractive features.

HTC have taken the word 'care' out of customer care with their dismissive attitude towards its customers. HTC Wildfire owners requesting information have been either ignored completely or have been consistently given different answers.

I believe it is high time that mobile / cell phone manufaturers treated its customers fairly and stopped leaving them with phones that are not supported from the second they are released and that often fail to function correctly. It seems that the main concern of such manufacturers is to continually heap more and more models onto the market, overlooking any bugs and issues in the race to always be in front of their competitors. But in their haste they are losing sight of what is the most imperative factor; their customers. If they take note they will be better able to develop a brand loyal set of customers who will be with them for the long ride!

I am currently lobbying HTC Headquarters to demand answers concerning HTC Wildfire Froyo 2.2 update. Anybody wishing to add their weight can visit my blog and vote on the poll: http://wp.me/p1aWfq-39
