It Completes My Marriage

People may believe love is the most beautiful thing you have ever seen in the world. For those who ever got hurt by love, it may not be true. But for me with a husband who loves me unconditionally, I totally understand what love means to me.

It is quite cold out there in each winter. Each time I see him coming into the house from his work, he would always shrug his shoulder to get rid of the snow laid on his shoulders while trembling like a little weak child. Actually, who does not in such a cold winter? Then, he would always ask me about what I have prepared for dinner. Oh, my lovely husband. I can not stand seeing him suffer from the chillness anymore. With a short consideration, I am determined to make a handmade scarf for him and give him on Valentine's Day this year. Considering the time limit, I have to hurry up.

This may be one of the best DIY gifts I ever made for him. A few years ago, the flood covered the whole town with heavy rain still going on. The small bridge connecting the only path to the road was drowned by the overfall which seemed to have no end. When he made it home that day, I found both of his feet had been wet through. Then, I decided to make him a pair of handmade boots which later helped him get through the hard days. This is my third DIY gift for him. It must bear a memorial meaning for both him and me. With five years into our marriage, the hard days we have been through had proven our true love. I still believe nothing can win over something that is made by yourself and your heart even though it is much cheaper in value than a magnificent dress, a luxurious jewelry, or an expensive ornament. As my Mom used to tell me when I was a little girl, love is complicated when you get hurt. However, it becomes quite simple when you begin to enjoy it.

With my knitting on the way, I begin to imagine his happy smile on his face when he sees it. Yes, it is true. It will be more than a simple handmade scarf. Instead, it is a handmade scarf filled with my appreciation and love for him. Let me complete my marriage with such a little DIY gift!
