It's Not Me Who Cheated - I Don't Need To Apologize
When a relationship results in a cheating wife men are often flabbergasted that they may have to apologize in order to win their wives back
. It's one thing to apologize when you've done something wrong but you're probably thinking, "my wife cheated on me, I didn't do anything wrong!"
The problem is that cheating is, more often than not, a symptom of a bigger problem rather than the actual problem itself. What does this mean for your relationship if you want to save your marriage? It means that you're going to have to play detective and discover exactly why your wife was cheating on you and what role you could have played in the breakdown or disconnect.
Knowing the Cause and Making it Right
Did you have a heated argument which caused a cold war? Do you still talk about the existing problems in your relationship which you used to do on the first two years of your marriage (and before going to sleep)?
Or was there a recent realization on how things fell apart right after a few years of being together in one roof. Do you feel that your world is getting smaller and smaller each day?
You need to get the answers so that you can sit back and figure out if there was some unresolved issue in that moment that has set the tone for future events to go so terribly wrong. More importantly, you need to find out what your role in the way things turned out may have been.
Revenge is not going to help at all, and hurting your wife physically won't help either. It will just keep her away from you more. Comprehend if you probably had something do with it. Ask yourself what you did wrong that pushed her to another man's arms.
Her Thoughts Are A Mystery
Examine the state of your marriage. Although fidelity is a choice, you have to put yourself in her shoes and think like her. Think of ways that would make her do it aside from lust.
Although you don't fully understand how things are going in her mind, she may have done it because of revenge, boredom, or because she is seeking more attention and appreciation. Whatever that is, there are things left unsaid that may need you to dig deeper on her emotions.
The real challenge is in finding out what went wrong, knowing your part in it, and making a sincere apology that will cut through all the muddy waters that have gone under your bridge since that vital moment.
