J.d. Power Ranks Hino Trucks' Engines As The Highest In Customer Satisfaction

One of the proudest accomplishments of Hino Trucks this year has been the ranking

of their engines as the highest in customer satisfaction for the second year in in a row. According to the Customer Satisfaction Study for Medium Duty Truck Engine and Transmission conducted by J.D. Power and Associates in 2009, Hino trucks for sale across the world had engines that ranked highest when customers were polled for their satisfaction with truck engines.

The study investigated how customers perceived Class 5, 6, and 7 diesel and gasoline engines from 2007, and gave manufacturers of these engines a measure that was both objective and comprehensive of how satisfied customers with the products and the related service they received from dealers. Four factors were measured and compared in order to find out how satisfied customers were overall. From greatest to least importance, the relevant factors were the warranties of the engines, the qualities of the engines, the performance of the engines, and how much it cost to own and maintain the engines.

The Hino Trucks Vice President of Marketing & Dealers Operations, Glenn Ellis, described the award from J.D. Power and Associates as the ultimate recognition for Hino Trucks because it expressed the voice of the customer regarding the real world experience they had undergone with the products of Hino Trucks. He also expressed pride in the second consecutive recognition and emphasized Hino Trucks' continuing commitment to delivering products that offered both quality and value.

Hino Trucks continues to look toward the future in its development and implementation of new vehicles and technologies to power them. Each model designed by the company is designed to meet and exceed the needs of both their customers and of the environment. In 2010, new models will be released that meet the increasingly stringent emissions standards published by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In 2011, Hino Trucks, which is already a leader among commercial truck manufacturers in developing hybrid technology, will present a propriety hybrid system it has been developing for three generations in class 4 and 5 cabs that were newly designed and built to cater to the needs of U.S. companies and businesses.

The 2009 study from J.D. Power and Associates also found that the medium duty engines from the 2007 model year were considerably more efficient in average fuel consumption than were the medium duty engines from the 2006 model year as measured by the 2008 study. Increases in fuel economy are thought to lead to increases in customer satisfaction, as such improvements in engine efficiency result in a lower cost of ownership, which is one of the four factors considered by J.D. Power and Associates when determining overall satisfaction with engines. Overall satisfaction with medium duty engines also tended to increase with increases in fuel economy.

Finally, the results of the study by J.D. Power and Associates indicates engines manufactured by Hino maintain their consistent track record of high performance and quality, which bodes well for the future of Hino.
