Jaago Re Groups: A bridge to Offline Participation

JaagoRe.com is a portal we created to get everyone in India to come online to talk about the issues plaguing our country. And now that we're a 22000 member strong community, it's about time we get ambitious. Let's all convert the online zeal that everyone's been showing into offline activism!

It is for this reason that Jaago Re has introduced Jaago Re groups:

Yes, we know of your love for social networking. So why not convert that love into doing something good for the society?

Create your own groups. Be the change that you've always wanted to see. Get your friends and relatives to join your group. Pretty soon, you'll find others joining you as well. Once the group is up, we can take the next step towards creating a social change. The coolest part of creating a group here on Jaago Re is, that you can get in touch with other like-minded people who have their own groups. The more people involved , the merrier, right?

Create a Jaago Re event:

Once the event has been created, one can share it with the different groups that one is a part of and get the ball rolling. So, now that we already have most of our friends on board in our groups, let's get busy with activities like Newspaper collection drives in our localities. The money collected can be given to the local charities. Or organize something as fun as a Chamcha- Goti race for the underprivileged kids and let them forget their worries for a while.

We can also organize bigger things with a little help from outside organizations.

Some of our Jaago Re netizens have already taken up the initiative and started hosting events. Here are two we're extremely proud of:

The Kutch Yuvak Sangh along with the Jain Visha Oswal Seva Samaj organized a Blood Donation Drive at Mira Road.

Similarly The Justice Revolution showed a screening the short film "A Pocketful of Dreams" at Joseph's Boys High School, Bangalore on Nov 1 2010. All funds raised by the sale of donor passes and donations went towards Seeds Oasis' Education Project.
