Jack Johnson Tickets - Taking His Listeners 'to The Sea'
Jack Johnson has managed a third number one hit on the charts with his most recent release
, To the Sea. The Hawaiian singer/songwriter is well-known for his mellow melodies and his latest album further showcases his musical talents. To the Sea blasted past Michael Buble's Crazy Love and settled in at the top spot on the U.K. charts.
This latest contribution by Johnson is similar to his previous efforts; it features the usual laidback tunes and surfer vibes...only this one seems to be a little bit more uplifting than his last release, Sleep through the Static. As the New York Daily News notes, "It's always been Johnson's secret that his words betray more angst and activism than his dippy hippie image, and soft-serve music, suggest." Indeed, no matter how you look at it, Johnson always offers his listeners something remarkable to reflect upon. See him perform live at one of his upcoming gigs. Go online and purchase a pair of Jack Johnson tickets as soon as possible.
Jack Johnson's appeal to the world's beach bums may have started long before he became a widely acclaimed musician. Before he even picked up the guitar Johnson handled a surfboard, eager to become a master of the waves. He was well on his way to achieving this when an accident cut his surf dreams short. He found comfort in other creative endeavors like filmmaking and songwriting, both of these "hobbies" which turned him into an international sensation.
He released his debut album Brushfire Fairytales in 2001, a magical little collection of upbeat tunes that included hits like "Flake," "Bubble Toes," "Fortunate Fool" and "It's All Understood."It was a huge success, garnering attention from both fans and critics and ushering in an era of mellow music - a perfect accompaniment to a barbeque at the beach.
Next up for Johnson was On and On. It was another album that featured sunny surf vibes and meaningful lyrics as did his next release, called In Between Dreams. The latter album marked a surge in Johnson's popularity as it peaked at number two on the U.S. charts and ultimately sold more than two million copies.
Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George was actually Johnson's first album to hit the number one spot on the charts. It reached platinum status, quite an accomplishment for a record that was intended as a soundtrack for an animated kid's movie. Johnson's appeal was apparently crossing generational lines.
2008's Sleep through the Static reflected a much more somber tone as Johnson struggled with personal loss. Nevertheless it went platinum within five weeks and he embarked on an extensive tour of Europe that summer, prompting the release of the 2009 CD/DVD En Concert.
To the Sea arrived in June 2010. Already we are seeing the impact of its success as it claims number one positions on the charts and Johnson prepares for a summer and fall tour throughout the U.S. Don't miss seeing him live on stage; get Jack Johnson tickets today from StubHub.
