At this year's Antiquorum auction of "Important Collectors' Wristwatches, Pocket Watches, Clocks, and Horological Tools", it was Jacob & Co. that made the biggest impression, and left with an enormous amount in sales. Two timepieces in particular made an impression at this prestigious sale.

The Crystal Tourbillon sold for almost $1.5 million. It is considered art by watch collectors, with a transparent dial and back which showcase the floating skeleton tourbillon with a sapphire bridge. The case is 18-karat gold, and is set with 17.48 baguettes. Only 18 such watches were made. The Napoleon Quadra, also by Jacob & Co., brought in almost $1.1 million. With only 18 created, the 18-karat white gold case contains a transparent sapphire disc that shows off the trademark skeleton tourbillon escapements with four time zone openings. Each is handcrafted and has 652 components. The buckle itself is also 18-karat white gold.

The company's jewels also stole the show at Sotheby's Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite sale in Hong Kong, 2008. At that time, a cushion-cut Jacob & Co. engagement ring (aka jacob the jeweler engagement ring) sold for $5.78 million and a gold and diamond necklace with earrings brought in almost $1 million. Right now, it is the collectors' items that are still bringing in big money, while other diamond jewelry is suffering a bit in the auction house.
