Jaguar Celebrates Best August Sales In Two Years
August sales figures reveal that Jaguar sales in the UK are up 45 per cent year to date and 74 per cent versus August 2009
. Geoff Cousins, Managing Director, Jaguar UK said: While August is traditionally a quieter month for car sales in the UK, we have had our busiest August for two years. Some compelling new models, competitive offers and a cut-through TV advertising campaign for XF and XJ are helping to drive retail sales.
We are certainly seeing strong evidence of consumer confidence bouncing back. Every one of the 20 85,500 XKR 75 models available in the UK has been ordered. Our dealers sold out in just three weeks following the global debut of this exclusive model at the Goodwood Festival if Speed in July. Our volume model, the XF continues to go from strength to strength with a sales increase of 45 per cent year to date and its fifteenth consecutive month on month improvement. So far this year the XF is outselling all models of the Audi A6 and BMW 5-series.
In the UK, 209 XF were sold in August 2010 compared to 126 the previous year, up 66 per cent while year to date, 7933 XF have been sold in the UK up 45 per cent from 5456 sales in 2009. Sales of the XK are also up so far this year with 1116 cars sold compared with 880, a year to date improvement of 27 per cent. Overall, Jaguar has sold 9952 cars in the UK, a 45 per cent improvement on the previous year. 6883 cars were sold in the January - August period in 2009.
In the UK, retail pricing of the
Jaguar XF range now starts at 29,900 for the 3.0-litre petrol. The 3.0-litre diesel model is available from 34,900 for the 240 PS engine while the 275 PS 3.0-litre Diesel S starts at 38,600. The top of the range XFR is available from 62,055. The XK range starts at 62,500 for the 5.0 n/a V8 petrol and the XKR starts at 75,500. The new XJ is priced from 53,900.
