, by James Lumbers deal with the traditions and chronicle of hockey players and followers that have developed into such an essential part of our society. The concentration is not just on the great stars of the game, but rather what inspires us to understand and learn about teamwork while instilling the notion that one day, given the determination, a few might turn into the next Wayne Gretzky or Sidney Crosby.

"Where Dreams Are Born", "The Hockey Scout", "The Goalie Mask", "Saturday Night Hockey" and "The Olympic Gold" the most recent release are the existing collector giclees that make up 5 of 6 in the limited edition series of "The History of Hockey Collection".

Canadian painter James Lumbers is highly recognized as a famous and respected artist not only in Canada but across the globe. His wilderness landscapes, nostalgic paintings of Canada's pasts, and motivating portraits are part of private art and print collections around the planet. Born in Toronto in 1929, and a graduate of the Ontario College of Art, James Lumbers worked an expedition in the northern part of Canada. The experience changed his life. Recognized for his ghost paintings, Lumbers carefully mixes moments from the earlier periods and present to create a evocative paintings that triggers lovely memories from different times long ago. Lumbers has had numorous TV and radio appearances and exhibitions in Canada, the United States & the UK. Globally well-known as a artist for his ghosting effect which started on a summer afternoon in 1976, we are all accustomed with the impactful mementos his lasting paintings have on our minds.

Lumbers has developed a stout sense of history and this is reflected in much of his paintings. Lumbers states: "We are products of our memories and traditions. We must fight in our own way to preserve what we have."

When interviewing the Gretzky family Lumbers said "Some years ago when doing research for a painting of Wayne Gretzky, His father Walter showed me where Wayne took his first steps on a rink in their backyard. There was no acclaim at that time, just a little boy who loved to skate. The same was true for Gordie Howe as I discovered when doing research for his portrait. Their greatness and that of others came through love and devotion for the game."

These stories helped produce the idea of doing a sequence of six collector giclees representing young people and their ambitions of aspiring to one of the original six teams in the NHL and representing their respective olympic hockey team; to join teams like Toronto Maple Leafs, Montreal Canadiens, Detroit red Wings, New York Rangers, Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks and Canada's olympic hockey team. Lumbers thinks that we all must be reminded now and then that things are possible if you put enough energy into something!

"The History of Hockey Collection" limited edition giclees are extremely well-liked with art collectors and hockey enthusiasts. This compilation can viewed and purchased at miroarts.com and at select art galleries. Several of these limited edition giclees are sold out and can only be purchased in the secondary art market. Only five of a collection of six giclees have been created by James Lumbers and the final collector giclee will be released sometime in 2013.

The fifth and most recent painting from "The History of Hockey Collection" by Lumbers is "The Olympic Gold." This most recent collector print relfects on Sidney Crosby's Olympic Goal for team Canada against team USA.
