This article's Japanese grammar building uses the Japanese word 'nagara'

Verb (Base II) + nagara - to try and do while 'verb'ing.

With this grammar construction, each past tense and present tense expressions are allowable. After reading the using examples, plug in your preferred Japanese verbs and, play! Plugging and playing in this way can make finding out Japanese enjoyable!

Instance one. sara o arainagara, kuchibue o fuku. - While undertaking the dishes, I whistle.

Case in point 2. enka o kikinagara, sake o nomu - While listening to an enka drink sake.

Japanese Grammar Formulation Breakdown

one. Place verb in base II

a. The verb arau (v. to wash) in + direct object sara (n. dishes) is sara o arau - to accomplish the dishes.

b. arau in base II becomes arai.

a couple of. Fuse arai and nagara to create arainagara, or the phrase although washing... plugged and played.

Past tense, non-polite (common), plain-form ending

Ex. one sara o arainagara kuchibue of fuita. I whistled whilst undertaking the dishes.

Previous tense, polite ending -

Instance one. sara o arainagara, kuchibue of fukimashita. - Although accomplishing the dishes, I whistled.

Past tense, non-polite (familiar), plain-form closing -

Instance two. enka o kikinagara, sake o nonda (Whilst listening to enka, I drank Sake)

Past tense, polite ending -

Case in point a couple of. enka o kikinagara, sake o nomimashita.( Even though listening to enka, I drank Sake)
