Well, some of it was about his standup career, which he has continued to foster along with his successful position as a late-night television host.

Many have probably wondered why Leno didn't just give up standup comedy altogether once he reached stardom, especially since he gets a taste of it every night during his opening monologue. Well, when asked by Jay Leno, Leno said that he continues because he sees it as a better gauge of success than ratings. According to MSNBC, Leno said that he knows if he is filling stand-up venues, then his show is doing fine. Conversely, if there are empty seats at his standup shows, he needs to work on his approach. Jay Leno is a man of many talents, and one of his most well-documented interests is his love for automobiles. In 2009, he started hosting a show that aired earlier than his previous late-night show called The Jay Leno Show. While keeping busy with his show, Leno has continued to routinely take stages around the country to perform his much-celebrated standup routine.
