Less than 60 days after rolling out its Kin smartphones, Microsoft is giving up on the teen-friendly devices amid reportedly weak sales. The decision, even as the company was hitting TV hard with ads promoting the phones, will allow Microsoft to shift resources from the Kin team to the upcoming Windows Phone 7 series.

This piece of news echos the main point of what I wrote yesterday. While no one can argue that Microsoft and Bill Gates got us where we are today with the pc in order to accomplish that gargantuan feat they had to keep the focus away from the internet. I can say unabashadly that had Microsoft been able to do what they did and maintain a firm grasp on the net Gates would be at the helm today instead of sitting home trying to figure out how to work the remote in his 50 million dollar house and explaining to his wife that going to titty bars once a week with his friends is actually healthy for their marriage. The truth is there is simply no where for Microsoft to go in the future but down. The software we use daily on our pc's that brought them success will be obsolete in a few short years as we will be working in the clouds.

The take away here is not just to sell all Microsoft shares immediately, dump it, dump it all. The take away here is you must be vigilant in how you spend your time. Everything you do with your time management has to be about growth and increasing traffic. Nothing else matters. You have 5000 backlinks to your main site? Great. Tomorrow you need 5001. You have a 7% CTR Rate and a 10% Conversion Rate? Great now what are you doing to get it up another percent tomorrow? How much about Google' new opportunities are you aware of? When is the next online marketing seminar you are attending and how is it differentthen the last one? As my good friend Bill says, bigger, better, faster. Today its Warp Factor 10 tomorrow its... well you get the point.

Dont bother reading books on the subject because by the time they go into print its already too late. Find the best and the brightest minds in he area of online marketing you are trying to excell in and read their blogs, articles, and tweets. Tweets? Suffering sugatash I cant believe I have to use that word.

Dont try to get all the info on all the various online marketing areas at once. Try to focus on one particular area. PPC. Organic. Link building. SEO. Social media. Get a feel, do your A/B testing. Always be testing. Just like the guy Mitch and Maury sent over would say ABC Always Be Closing. A man doesnt walk on the lot lest hes ready to buy. There are standing there waiting to give you their money. Are you man enough to take it?

Look, you know anyone in real estate, mortgage broker or construction that makes money today? I dont. My real estate agent chauffeurs me to the airport to earn the money he needs to buy food for his kids. Thats a sad story, only problem is sad stories aint selling this year.

The point here is get online. Sell something, anything but learn the ABC's of online marketing.

Remember, there are no bad products, only bad online marketers.
