Jealousy is very harmful to you and your partner. Jealousy left untamed will cause you to become embittered and angry and distrusting of your partner none of which is what your partner deserves. Jealousy does nothing to promote emotional health and well being in your relationship.

You want to know wherever your partner goes and always think he or she is hiding the fact that infidelity is on his or her mind. Even when your partner tells you the truth, you still dont believe what he or she says because you always think there is something more to the story.

Can jealousy ruin your relationship? It certainly can especially if your partner cannot take your distrust anymore. Your partner, if he or she has a backbone, will eventually want to leave the relationship for someone who is more trusting and able to exist in a mature dating relationship. It's certainly not fair to distrust your partners every word or every deed. That shows that you have insecurities that you need to deal with.

What are some of those insecurities that could be the root of your jealousy? In your past relationships, you could likely have had a bad experience where your ex-partner did cheat on you and you now distrust your current partner. You could have a controlling personality and simply be compelled to rule over your partner and not listen to the truth.

Is there hope for a relationship when you are the jealous type? Of course there is, but in order for any change to occur, there needs to be an acknowledgement of the problem in order to get a solution that leads you to a mature dating relationship. You need to realize that you have a problem and confess that issue and work from there to find healing and recovery from your jealousy problem. Obviously, your partner knows that you have a problem with jealousy since he or she has been the object of that jealousy for the entire duration of your relationship. You will need to confess to your partner that you do have such a problem with jealousy and ask his or her forgiveness and then try to convince your partner that you really are trying to change and make a difference to transform your relationship into a mature one that can grow.
