Jeans-how To Find The Perfect Pair
Fashion trends come and go, but jeans are a mainstay
. The question should always be which pair of jeans you should get for yourself, not whether to get one or not.
The first place to look when buying a pair should always be the type of figure you have. Honesty and objectivity is very important, if you're having a difficult time, ask a friend. The basic body types are; apple shaped -fuller figured and round; pear shaped -bigger around the hips and especially the thighs; hourglass -smaller at the waist but bigger around the hips. Your height should be a consideration as well, tall, short or average.
There are various style of jeans, the classic, five pocket style, with a straight hip and thigh and slim fitting legs that taper from knee to ankle. Often called "boyfriend" cut because it looks like men's classic jeans. If you have an average figure, tending toward hourglass, these jeans will work for you. If you are short and petite, as long as you wear the petite cut, these can work for you too. Fuller figured women can wear them paired with heels.
In recent years, fashion jeans have often been boot cut, which means flared gradually at the bottom, and low-rise, sitting just under the belly button. An average or hourglass figure can wear these as well, and a "apple" or "pear" figure would want boot cut or flared jeans to help balance a fuller figure. Low-rise may also help address gape at the back, if that is a problem with your jeans.
Relaxed fit jeans are loose through the seat and thighs and may be straight or tapered. On easy days that you want to relax, these jeans are what you want, just be mindful not to look dumpy. For the women blessed with height, the wide-legged jeans would work wonders.
Whatever style you choose, there are several constants to consider. Try to steer clear of the saggy seat. Stretch denims add comfort to jeans that are gently hugging your hips making the look more attractive. Unless you are wearing cropped jeans, the hem should stop near the midpoint behind your shoes. Pants bunching up around your ankles are very unattractive.
Despite the guidelines for styles, when you go shopping, try a variety. As long as the jeans are fit and are comfortable, the "rules" really don't matter. Don't just look in the mirror. Bend over. Have a seat. If you wear both heels and flats, bring along both kinds when you go on a shopping spree. A second opinion from a friend would also be a good basis.
Once you find the perfect jeans, buy more than one pair. After going through the hassle of finding your style and fit, then reward yourself by not having to do it again any time soon.
