Jessica Simpson Explores the Price of Beauty

Singer, actress and paparazzi magnet, Jessica Simpson is known to start with another reality series. She was first catapulted in to fame when she released her first single and album which did very well. Soon afterwards she married her long time boy friend Nick Lachey and had their married life documented in the mega hit MTV reality show "The Newly Weds: Nick and Jessica".

Ever since Jessica Simpson's marriage, she had not been sighted in the social arena for long till after her divorce and today, Jessica Simpson is seen to be returning to reality television with the renowned hair stylists, Ken Paves and Cacee Cobb. The new show is airs on VH1 and is known as The Price of Beauty. The basic focus of the show is that these three celebrities travel all over the world exploring the essence of beauty with respect to different cultures, religions and nations as existing all across the globe.

Simpson and her friends have also offered a unique perspective on this subject. Even though, having been symbol of beauty herself like many other celebrities, she has also been recently mocked by critics for failing to live up the standards as set by the fickle fashion and music industry.

Cynics might wonder what drama these three Hollywood celebrities would muster up to generate public attention and viewers as seemingly all they have to do is fly all over the world to experience what beauty means to other countries and cultures. However Jessica Simpson, who is the host of the show, began the show by announcing that this beauty stuff is not as easy as it seems apparently. They are seen to be exploring various angles of beauty and seen to be having a good time doing it. Of course, Jessica Simpson brings her ditsy persona to the forefront and presents some goofy one liner and comical moments that viewers are surely expected to enjoy.

Her first stop is Thailand where they discover that fair skin is prized rather than tanned one. They find that bronzing products do not have a big market there while on the other hand, fairness creams do. The next venture is the search of inner beauty. They event went to a Buddhist monk who guided them with meditation wherein Jessica Simpson started laughing after a few minutes of silence. They also took an elephant ride to their next stop and met up with Thailand's Next Top Model host, who explained that models there often ate insects and cockroaches to increase their metabolism. The Price of Beauty is one of a kind experience that brings into the limelight what various parts of the world considers beautiful. It is both intriguing and entertaining for everyone and quite knowledgeable as well.
