Jessica Simpson is a popular celebrity who started her career with singing and has now gone on to have an expanding career. She not only has her own line of beauty products, but recently also started hosting a television show by the name of Price of Beauty.

This show captures Jessica Simpson and her celebrity hairdresser Ken Paves in their adventures around the world in which they discover different traditions and customs regarding beauty. As we know, the concept of beauty differs around the world and what we consider beautiful or fashionable might not be so in another part of the world. Every region has their own customs and definition of beauty, and they go through different ordeals in order to gain beauty.

The title of show is a good depiction of what the show is all about. There is always a price for beauty, may it be in the form of money or the effort you have to put in to be beautiful. For example, some of the episodes in the show talk about extreme body modifications such as those done by the women of a tribe in Thailand, who elongate their necks by encasing them in metal rings for long periods of time. The show has also talked about how Asian women use harmful chemicals to bleach their skin so that they can be fairer and be considered beautiful.

The show has also covered some psychological problems which people can develop in their pursuit of beauty and how it affects their health and self esteem. For example, in one episode, anorexia was discussed. This is a serious disease which affects many people around the world and can have very dangerous affects on health. It is important to bring such issues into the light so that people can be more aware about them and realize that it is something treatable.

So far, one season of the Price of Beauty has been aired and many countries such as India, Thailand, France and Japan have been visited. A second season of the show is expected to be aired in the year 2011.
