Jetlite flights, owned by Jet Airways since the last three years

, have come up to be a reliable and popular value carrier with its low price attractive air fares. At present it operates 110 flights daily. Meanwhile, Indian Airlines, which is in the process of being merged with AirIndia Airlines, continues to be the flag carrier of the country.

Jetlite covers all the major states of India thus catering to a large section of the population. At present, among international flights its destination includes neighboring Nepal and Sri Lanka. Indian Airlines, on the other hand, apart from flying to most of the cities and states in the country also flies to Afghanistan, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka; parts of Southeast Asia like Malaysia and Thailand; and also middle eastern countries Kuwait, Oman and the UAE. At present, Indian Airlines operates on an all Airbus fleet while AirIndia Airlines have one Airbus and Boeing. This oldest and largest airline in India extends its services from Asia till North America and Europe. Recently it has come up with a number of attractive offers like the Companion Scheme for the Domestic Executive Class and has regular discounts for a variety of category of fliers.

Among the major airways in the country, Jetlite flights, have no doubt in a short span, since its shift of the ownership from the Sahara Conglomerate to the Jet Airways, have made a considerable impact on the low fares range of flights. Like the other airways, it also presents special offers to its fliers who are students, senior citizens, cancer patients, those belonging to the Armed Forces, etc. The Airways has also the provision for web check-in which allows the fliers to avoid long queues for getting their boarding pass. However, Indian Airlines along with its merging partner Airindia Airlines will be part of the Star Alliance in March next year. Thus, next year will mark another milestone in the history of these national carriers, who over the last five decades have been prominent with their various flying services, thus contributing to the tourism aspect as well.
