John Mayer And Katy Perry Calls It Splits!

Looks like Katy Perry has another One that got away! After a reportedly serious summer

romance with John Mayer, the couple has reportedly called it quits after just two months. Word has it that Mayer was the one that upped and left, but Perry seems to be taking it pretty hard, according to one source.

However, even though the couple has decided to let their relationship fizzle out, it doesnt mean that Mayer, 34, and Perry, 27, will let their friendship die as well. Sources near the couple confirm that they honestly enjoy each others company on a platonic level. However, no matter how much they tried, they just couldnt seem to make it work and finally the relationship ended. Sources near the couple cites irreconcilable differences as the reason for the couples split. What makes it worse is that, according to The Sun magazine, Mayer reportedly took the easy way out and broke up with Perry over an email.

Rumor has it that they officially ended their relationship before August 21, when they attended a dinner party at a mutual friends home. The catch? They attended and (presumably) left the party separately. According to a source from Radar Online, the former lovebirds went out of their way to ignore each other during the event, and even made a point of staying in different rooms throughout the entire evening. A partygoer who witnessed the ex-couples interaction even confides that they kept their heads down whenever they passed each other. Everyone who attended the party could almost feel the animosity between them.

When they first hooked up in June, the couple raised eyebrows from their colleagues in the entertainment industry, with Mayer being notorious for his increasing record of loving and leaving well-known female celebrities, and Perry being viewed as fresh from her breakup with former hubby, Russell Brand. It was actually Brand who was one of the people who loudly voiced out his objection to Perry and Mayer getting together. Now that theyve split up, Perry has reportedly gone to Disneyworld as part of her way of getting over Mayer. On Mayers side, he went and got a haircut; a classic way of reacting when a relationship goes sour. Recently, however, rumors have begun buzzing that Mayer had only hooked up with Perry to be able to get close to her gal pal, Rhianna, and now that they have split up, many are wondering whether Mayer would make a move on Rhianna. Only time will tell, but you can be sure that those close to the former couple will be keeping a close eye on Mayer from here on in.

Mayer adds Perry to his every-growing list of broken hearts, including Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Love-Hewitt and Taylor Swift. Will he add Rhianna to that list anytime in the future?
