Jon "Bones" Jones Crushes Shogun Rua To Win Championship

UFC 128 a mixed martial arts competition was held in Newark, New Jersey and the main event was a bout between light heavyweight challenger Jon "bones" Jones from the USA and Champion Shogun Rua from Brazil. Jon Jones came into this fight a 2 to 1 betting favorite as he has been beating all of his previous opponents with ease. Jones did not disappoint his excited fans on this night, winning the 205 lb championship belt in stunning fashion in Round 3.
As round 1 started Jon "bones" Jones ran at Shogun Rua with a flying knee that hit its mark and momentarily stunned Rua. This was only the beginning of an onslaught that included spinning back elbows and kicks as well as an array of take downs and slams that left Rua bloodied and bruised. By the start of Round 3 it was obvious that the Champion Rua was beaten and only a matter of time till he was knocked out or the referee would stop the fight. The referee did mercifully stop the fight in the third round as Rua was reduced to covering up in a turtle position to try and defend himself against the powerful Jones.
Jon "Bones" Jones won the UFC light heavy weight 205 lb belt with this victory. This victory sent shock waves around the mixed martial arts world as it was such a one sided beat down of a top level opponent. Not only did Jones beat the champion but he actually made him look like a complete amatuer. The UFC will have a difficult time to try and find an opponent that can match skills with this young and extremely talented fighter.
On a side note worth mentioning Jon "Bones" Jones earlier that same day was walking down the street when a robber and criminal was fleeing down the street after a robbery. Jon Jones ran after him and caught him knocking him down with a foot sweep. He held him until police arrived and detained the criminal. What more can Jones do for an encore? Jones is a deserving champion both in and out of the fighting ring!
