It is known to all that Jupiter is a benefic planet and is capable of giving wisdom, intelligence, wealth and also children. He is for husband and for children. Thursday is the day ruled by Jupiter and that is the reason that normally ladies keep fast on Thursdays to propitiate Lord Jupiter (GURU) for the welfare of the husband and children and also for self (to keep and feel young).
Earlier in this Journal, effects of Jupiter with Rahu had been published. In this article, an attempt has been published. In this article, an attempt has been made to say briefly as to what Jupiter has to say in various Houses from 1st house (lagna) to 12th House. For a Layman's understanding, the Houses in the Horoscope have been marked in Roman i.e. I to XII.
Effects of Jupiter (GURU)
First House- Astrologer, long lived, devoted to his work, learned, social worker, frank, sensitive about his self respect, handsome, happy humble, wealthy, may have many children, respected by Government, also religious minded.
Second House- Handsome body, sweet speech, loud voice has children, wealth and immovable property, respected by Government, popular, good deeds, fortunate, defeats enemies, long lived.
Third House- Has control over his senses, learned in Shastras, author, goes away from native place, yogi, respected, lusty, fond of women, fond of travelling, and may have brothers and sisters.
Fourth House- Fond of comforts, good body, proficient, hard working, astrologer, good education, few children, respected by Government, loves mother, practical habits.
Fifth House- Astrologer, popular, highest position in the family, successful in speculation, many children.
Sixth House- Soft spoken, famous, learned, weak constitution, recovers from illness early, few enemies.
Seventh House- Fortunate, learned, orator, head of clan, humble, patient happy married life.
Eighth House- Long lived has good manners, soft-spoken, writer, loses wealth, gets diseases in secret parts, diabetes.
Ninth House- Famous may renounce world, yogi, highly religious, learned in Shastras and Vedanta, fortunate, learned, respected by Government and people, intelligent and may have children.
Tenth House- Good deeds, Famous and respected, holds position of dignity, judge or minister, Prime Minister, President, successful astrologer, truthful, obedient to Gurus and parents, rich fellow.
Eleventh House- Handsome, healthy, gives wealth, good businessman or banker, contented, learned, respected by Government, spends on good causes. Helping hand.
Twelfth House- Lazy, happy, yogi, helpful to others, liberal but greedy.
There is a difference of opinion that if Guru is posited alone in Houses 2, 5, 7, 11, he gives evil results of that (House) Bhava. But this may not be true. Actually even a malefic planet in any bhava if comes in association with Guru, he gives good results at the cost of Guru's good qualities. Guru thus gives evil results only when he is in association with a malefic planet or own evil houses in any particular horoscope.
