Just Breathe To Achieve Balance When Life Takes Over
I was just reminded again today that when life comes at me from all directions with
more things to do than I had on my agenda, I need to stop, breathe, and create a workable plan. How many of you can relate to life taking over your well planned day or week? Achieving balance in our lives is not about control, but about being able to go with the flow. I have learned that I can control nothing other than my response to life happening. Because life will happen!!!
When things start to pile up, take a break. Sit still and breathe. Achieving balance in your life is all about prioritizing what needs to get done immediately, what can be put on hold, what can be delegated, and best yet, what is of no interest to you and you can delete from your list.
A great story that reminds me to go step by step is "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time." A huge project or a long list of items gets
accomplished by taking one bite at a time. One bite or one step at a time not only gets the job done, but helps you in achieving work life balance and
keeping your sanity! So, breathe. Step back and make a plan. Saying No is also a solution. You do not have to engage with everything that comes your way. No, not interested or delegate. Put off what you can. What needs immediate attention, break down into segments and proceed one bite at a time. Don't forget to breathe in the process and to take small breaks to re-energize you. Make life enjoyable!!
