Just When I Think I Am Done

If you've ever owned a retail business online, then you know that the work day doesn't necessarily end at 5pm. Orders come in 24/7/365 and the website itself has to be maintained. So after you have updated the inventory, processed orders, researched new products, and replaced underselling products, you still have to promote your brand. You still have to convince the public why they should buy from your store.

In comes the concept of Social Networking. When I first started my online business Villa Nook Plaza I thought it would be enough to post ads, hand out business cards, mail fliers, and write email campaigns. Boy was I wrong! In fact, I was fighting what I knew needed to be done because it was time consuming.

A friend of mine finally convinced me it was necessary to get my businesses name in front of many people. He told me I had to think bigger and that by blogging I could possibly reach millions of people all over the world.

Well, I had to admit he made sense. So I began blogging, tweeting, and updating my status. I really had a hard time tweeting because I thought it was silly and I was frustrated because I felt I needed more characters. As time went on it got easier and now I find it challenging to reduce my tweets down to 140 characters that still makes sense to my customers and followers.

Don't get me wrong, I love my online business and enjoy finding new products to sell that I think my customers will like.

But Just When I Think I Am Done it starts all over again.
