Kaj Neve Is A Seasoned Professional In The Medical Field

Kaj Neve is a Board Certified Psychiatrist with years of experience

. He went to The American School in Japan in Tokyo, Japan and then attended Dana College, in Blair, Nebraska from 1969-1973, where he received his BA summa cum laude. He received his M.D. from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Medicine, Omaha, Nebraska; and earned a scholarship from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. Kaj Neve completed his residency in psychiatry at Montefiore Medical Center and completed a Fellowship in Public Psychiatry at the New York State Psychiatric Institute/ Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital, New York. He did a Clinical Externship in Family Therapy at the Ackerman Institute in New York City and Training in Family Therapy at the Family Studies Section, Bronx Psychiatric Center, New York.

From 1983-1987, Kaj Neve was Attending Psychiatrist on the Family Interaction Ward, Bronx Psychiatric Center, Bronx, New York. He then served as Staff Psychiatrist and then Director of the Day Hospital, Morrisania NFCC, Bronx, New York for two years. He has served as Chief Psychiatrist on the Residency Training Unit at the Creedmoor Psychiatric Center, Queens Village, New York since 1990. He served as Chief Resident, Department of Family Practice, Lutheran Medical Center, 1978-1979 and was President of the Lutheran Medical Center Housestaff Association, 1977-1978. He has professional society memberships in the American Psychiatric Association, American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology and World Federation of Mental Health.

Kaj Neve has held academic appointments as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry with Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 1986-1991 and as Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Columbia University from 1994 to the present. Throughout his career, Kaj Neve has received various awards and honors including Teacher of the Year Award, Residency Education and Training Program in Psychiatry, Creedmoor Psychiatric Center in 1999 and 2005. He has also received a Workforce Champions Award as a member of the New York State Office of Mental Health PSYCHES Team, 2004. He has taught and supervised residents in the Residency Education and Training Program at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center from 1990 to the present. He is a seminar instructor for the Clinical Internship Program in Professional Psychology at Creedmoor Psychiatric Center.

Kaj Neve has had a private practice for over 20 years at 865 West End Avenue in New York City.
